It's very odd. When I am stopped at a light and I depress the brake it makes a wierd sound off and on like something is trying to engage. I am assuming this is from the abs.
When I bought the car, the e-brake wasn't hooked up due to the previous owner (my brother in-law who is a shade tree mechanic) did a brake job but didn't hook the ebrake back up. So this weekend i was working on it. After the E-brake was fixed, the brake engaging noise was constant when I was at a stop. I Went back and looked at the e-brake. There is a little sensor/metal piece that when the e-brake is pulled up, sends for the brake light on the dash display to go on. I played with the sensor a bit and now the brake engaging noise does not happen.
My questions: What is that noise/ feeling when I depress the brake? It used to come on and off. (abs?). Also what is that sensor/piece of metal's relation to the noise?
Please shed some light.
thanks,
shane
