ABS pump on continuously for 10sec then light

'86vette-I just replaced my hub bearing(dvr side) and NOW my ABS seems to be acting up. On start up-normal, 4mph test normal, than on acceleration(over 5/6mph) the module or pump starts humming for about 10 sec and then the "anti-lock" light illuminates. I did use vasoline when installing the sensor back into the knuckle but only on the sides. I don't know if that could be the problem but I will check the sensor and clean it off and start from there. I searched this forum for like problems with no luck. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Steve

Was the tip of the sensor clean? And did you unplug it?? If so check the Plug connections, and check the wire for any breaks!! If that don't do it you will probly have to put it on a scanner to see whats happening!!

I did notice the black insulation to the sensor(between the sensor and bracket) was cut open but the wires themselves didn't look damaged. I rewrapped w/ elec tape. I will double check the cleanliness of the sensor and the wires again to be sure.
