I replaced the u joints on the drivers rear a couple of months ago. To do so I had to remove the entire knuckle. Doing this scewed up my ABS.

When the ABS goes though its' test at 4 mph the anti lock light comes on, disabling the entire ABS system.

I was told that the system would 'reset' after 100 starts. Well its been several months, nothing has happened.

I read that you can pull the trouble code, went to the ECM terminal to ground the slot, and there is no wire where it told me to ground.

Is there another terminal besides the one under the driver dash. A ABS terminal? Maybe under the speaker in the back where the ABS is??? (converitible)

I appreaciate any help!

I've read articlles that state you cannot retrieve ABS codes, years 86 thru 89.

Can anybody confirm or deny this?:confused

The article indicated there is a different test, but didnot spell it out.

That is correct. You cannot acquire ABS Codes for the 1986-1989 like you can with later models using the DIC. The only method that I'm aware of is using a scan tool such as a Tech 1.

Can't they be retrieved with a Tech-1 and the brake module?? How would a GM service tech trouble-shoot ABS problems?

I'm sure the codes can be retrieved with the proper tool. The point is that, according to the info I have, you cannot retrieve codes on that particular year using the DLC pin grounding procedure.
