Hello all, been awhile since I have been here. I have an 81 I have had for about 14 years. A couple of years ago (pre kids) I had dual exhaust installed with no cats. There is no testing in my state of KY. I have since purchased a home that has an attached garage and I have to air it out constantly after I drive my Corvette as the fumes from the car are bad (doesn't bother me too much but bothers my wife and kids ask why my car stinks). Would I benefit from installing dual high flow cats on this? Not sure if any of this matters but it still has the factory computer on it. It does not have the smog pump (it was gone before I bought it). The carb is original but is fairly simplified of emissions equipment also and I run it without a choke. I don't know if a rebuild/replacement of the carb would help "the smell" more than cats. It runs pretty good and starts fine no matter what the weather is although I admit it isn't set up as it came from the factory. I know I will probably lose a miniscule amount of HP with cats. Any advice is appreciated.
