Adjusting the Hood

Well, guess now I have to add this to my "things to do" list. Does this list ever stop?

I've only had my '81 for a year...and it hasn't stopped yet. In fact, I keep adding to the list! :eyerole

Critical question here, Will the hood crack if we go too far with the shim thing on the rails? And does the hood have to be hot to do this? Mine is low at the bulge of the left fron t fender and every thing else is perfect. Of course I am too chicken to do the hammer deal.

I've tried the metal shims...got three in there so far, and NO improvement is noticable yet! Still low on the passenger side front edge. All else fits fine...but that one corner is driving me nuts! ;shrug

...and there's no way I'm laying a hammer on it! :ohnoes

STILL low on the passenger side front. Nothing I do seems to help. Does it make a difference if the shims are on the hood side of the hinge, or the body side? Doesn't seem like it would, but you never know. I added mine to the hood side, and the "dip" didn't seem to alter much at all!
