Aeromotive fuel pump question

this is posted in other forums.I desperately need help I needed a new fuel pump for stock 96 GS. To save some $ my friend had new Aeromotive 340 E85
I called AeroM for a question about wiring and they informed me that to use this pump I would have to change the whole Harness from the tank to the engine compartment. Is this real??? All I have is a stock Vette with 330 hp. Does this make sense? I bought the Racetronix in tank harness to upgrade the in-tank sender. I have changed 3 pumps in 5 yrs due to ethanol eating them, therefore, I cannot use a stock pump. I had enough of fuel pumps.

If you can't use the stock pump and you want that aftermarket unit, then you'll have to redo the fuel pump harness.

Make sure it puts out the same pressure as the stock unit.
