Has anyone, installed after market seats in a 79?
The type that Sumitt or Jegs has in the catalog. I do need padding so those bare aluminim ones will not do.
I'm looking to replace the entire seat system and don't know which way to go.
This is not a show car. This is a street/strip car. Roll bar, takes up some room and it's hard to get in/out, with out removing the tops. Not too cool, in the rain.
All info is being asked for.
Thanks,

the issue that prevents you from using seats other than stock is the shallow pan and the tight fit width wise in the base mounting area....

you will find the aftermarket seats raise you up so high that most folks will have their head wailing the roofs even if they are short.. on a car that already has no headroom its a really tight squeeze....

have a friend and client who builds these all the time... we just rebuild the stock ones... the only probably solution is most likely a racing shell..

i did not find anything that would work as I am 6-5 and already cramped beyond belief
