I believe this question must have come up before, but I have been unable to find it anywhere on this site.

I have gone through 2 sets of stock catalytic converters in the 220,000 miles I have logged. This last set was really going about a year ago. I need to know what specific aftermarket catalytic converter will work with the space available. The factory converters have offset inlet and outlet on one side and the outlet comes off at an angle on the other side. I have used a vernier caliper on them and noticed that the inlet is 2.5" and the outlet is 2.75". NOTHING I have looked at online (and I've spent HOURS looking) seems likely to work. It seems that a Magnaflow model is recommended, but it doesn't have the offset/angles needed, and even seems too long. There is NO room for modifications on the left side. I would like to buy one that will last me, since I run about 30,000 miles a year on this car and have to pass emission testing. I would reluctantly replace the entire exhaust system if that is the only option. I contacted a dealer and he confirmed that there IS a difference between LT1 and LT4 converters.

I need some help guys! ;shrug

Random Technology Cat Cons http://www.randomtechnology.com/ on mine. Part # 14-127005 left-side & 14-127007 right-side. Fit & finish is excellent, SS bullet style. They run about $350 ea plus shipping from a dealer listed on the web site (Dezod in FL). More compact than stock and seem to flow better. I have about 20k miles on them installed.
