Agressive Cam....Ruin timing?

Hearing tires screeching sounds really cool, just look at Akrays video. That looks hella fun!

But when it comes to racing if you hear tires screeching that is NOT good. That means you are not accelerating at your full potential. Tires are slipping when you want them to stick to the ground like glue! Kinda like running through sand. You can't run as fast through sand because your traction is not as good as it is on pavement.

And just like Akray stated when you run sticky tires and they don't give all the torque is transmitted to driveshafts, transmission, U-joints etc. Thats why they break they are absorbing the work the engine is putting out.

Remember contrary to what a lot of people think TORQUE is what breaks parts NOT HORSEPOWER.

Yes, I see what you mean about torque ruining parts. But, how do you know torque numbers? Would you know it's a problem after the damage is done? Or how you would know the problems before they come? Thanks! :D

I'm re-reading your post, sscam, and I don't understand what you're saying. So, you don't want to much "screeching", but you need some? Because if energy isn't put into the wheels, then the torque is too great for the other parts of the car, resulting in problems?

So, then what's the happy-medium for that? You don't want absolute sticky tires, but you want tires that have grip? Hmm...confusing. :D
