lol...(ie: 1987 Bright Red Coupe)
I saw a pic of someone's K&N style filter bolted on the air induction tube. My airbox is seriously fubar and before I fire it up I need to fix it to only include 100% filtered air. The k&n is one way but I heard too much oil can mess up the air flow sensor. An aftermarket dry filter or anything would greatly help cause I'm getting the itch to let 'er rip.

Any ideas and/or links will be gladly appreciated.
Thanks, Bill

If you don't over oil the K&N it will never give you problems.

Word! I have never had problems with my K&N in the 5 years that I have had it.

Where does the K&N filter attacht? Does it eleminate the airbox? Will I get a massive infusion of cheap hp?

Massive infusion of cheap HP is an oxymoron, it does not exist.

The K&N goes in place of the stock air filter. Is there power to be gained by replacing the stock paper filter with a K&N? Probably a couple of HP. What you can do, which will make a bigger difference, is also cut the "gills" from the stock lid. Instead of having air going through those gills, it will travel in more volume to the K&N air filter.

The replacement k&n you have seen...
yb.dll

This is for LT1, LT4 and ZR1. Not for L98 or earlier. However, some creative mind can do a lot ofcourse.

I need a new airbox.

Does anyone have one? Or know where to get an aftermarket. Then I can put the filter of my choice in.;)

If you go with the Ram Air system you do not need an air box.

Edmond, I forgot to turn on the sarcasm tags for the hp increase...;)

All you other junkies, thanks for the advice. I pméd Bradley so maybe he can hook me up with the ram.

And with the Ram Air system you get the K&N filter with it!
