I like the idea that it can be polished also!
The next one that you make I would strongly suggest that you'd some how try to seal the seam underneath up, maybe with some heat resistent silicon or something to that effect.
Seeing your's though makes me wish that I had a MAS on my car! Yours looks good!

2 tips that I thought of.

as a seal you could use a slice of bike tire all the way around inbetween the 2 metal pieces

for the bottom you could weld it together right??? that would make a sealed seem.

Man you guys can sure improvise. Can you fix my exhaust leak with some bubble gum?

cut the ends off a coke can,slice it down the side.use a little copper (high heat)gasket sealer,wrap can around pipe with sealer smeared on it,clamp around can.this is only for exhausts that need welding,this will get you to the muffler shop.but a friend had his like that for almost a year. what else ya got.
Da punch and i have done a few things" to make things work.

that would work,see now your thinking.i was thinking cut the last section off the"accordian"use the flat part as your seal,it used to go there anyway,and slide the new tube over and on to the throttle body,you could probably even use J.B.weld on the seam if done neatly,and correctly,not related but an example,i ported and polished my c5 throttle body,while inside the t-body i noticed a giant tunnel for the PCV system,i filled it with liquid weld,let dry then drilled a 1/4 inch hole threw the 'new'metal.that stuff will never come out if mixed right.anyway,later,Todd.

custom throttle body intake

Thanks for the idea's guys. That seam that u see is an overlap there is a good 1/2 in over lap so it is sealed up pretty good. In my spare time like i have some i am going to make an exact fit and electro flux so there will be no seam.

that makes sense,i was going to say that metal is probably to thin to weld.in BigBoyzToyz case this will be after the air flow sensor,so it must be leak free.like Da punch said,you can polish it.i polish everything thats aluminum,it takes time but when the hoods open you can tell on- lookers i did everything you see there. please show some updated pictures soon,see how it turns out.after we get BigBoyzToyz intake tubes done.its back to home depot for some of that 3 inch flex hose that goes from your dryer to outside the house,and see if we can get a duel 3inch ram air set up made for Da punches car.hes been making some preliminary plans already,and its still G.M.,(garage made). later,Todd.

For seals on the ends, you might try teflon tape. Just wrap several layers around the TB and the MAF and slip the sleeve on--fast, cheap, easy.
