I plan to replace the cold air intake in my 1998 Corvette this summer. However, after reading up on the K&N I plan to purchase it indicates I should reuse my manufacturer's MAF sensor. While I only have 20K miles on this 1998 does it make sense to replace the original MAF sensor with a new one? Or, is a new on simply going to do no more or less that the original?

Any and all help will be appreciated.

In advance, thanks, for the help.

Your PCM monitors the parameters of the MAF sensor constantly, if it is out of range a check engine light will come on. Re-use your old sensor if there are no MAF codes stored in your PCM.

Make absolutely sure that you do not over oil your K&N filter as the oil will contaminate the MAF, be very cautious. Good luck with it. :)
