I no longer need to pass emissions. Can I eliminate the air pump and all that stuff? If I can, what adjustments need to be made on a '73 stock 350 L48

The A.I.R. pump doesn't do anything to reduce performance (it only absorbs about 0.1hp); the changes that affected emissions and performance were in the distributor advance and carburetor calibrations.

If you're tired of looking at it, you can remove the pump, brackets and plumbing and plug the holes in the exhaust manifolds; I'd keep all the parts, as more and more C3's are being restored, many of which don't have any of the A.I.R. system parts any more, and those parts are worth good money to restorers (none have been available from GM for many years).
