Airflow ?

My question involves carb. airflow I've got a 650 holley D.P. with a dropbase 2" aircleaner 14" dia. am I getting enough air my power in the upper rpm range breaks up I've seen bigblocks in Vettes with that small chrome triangular shaped air cleaner which I believe was stock. I also remember flipping air cleaner lids in my younger days. With the limited space under hood how much is enough?

Round 14 x 2 should be plenty.

Breaking up at high rpm? ... Maybe carb needs tuning / distributor needs a better-than-stock module?

-edit- if MY1975 has OE distributor ... it's an HEI ... No points ... dwell Not adjustable ... does have replaceable module.

Carb is new rebuilt dist. not long ago with a petronix kit (suspect!) I was also looking to improve while I'm at it I guess I'm looking for a forumla or something for air flow
