I have a 1992 everything is fine with the car I have had it checked out 3 or 4 times Battery alt reg etc.
I get in to start the car nothing happens I have power in the battery radio etc works I can go back 15 min later and it starts right away This happens all the time Sometimes I have to wait an hour or even 3or 4 before it starts
Two people think the promlem is with the alarm
I don't know the right way to troubleshoot this
should I go to a dealer to check it out (after market alarm )
Go to a alarm installer and tell him to take everything out?
Any suggestions would be very thankful
forgot to write it is a VIPER alarm system

I would have that aftermarket alarm disconnected, and I bet your problems go away. Did you have it installed, or was it there when you got the car?

Sounds like the VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft).

Search here for it, you'll find many who have had similar problems.

You may have already thought to check this...but have you made sure the battery cables are connected good and tightened down correctly?
Thanks Rascal its not the cabel I replaced battery and cabels same problem occured did as much trouble shooting as I can
Thanks

David I agree with you the alarm was in the car before I bought it
when you say disonnect make them take out everything or just disconect it
what do you suggest
Thanks

IMO it would be wise to check what came with the car first. Check the VATS. :w

Don't know where to tell you to start but good luck finding it, may just be the process of elimination. I would suspect of course the after market alarm first, then go from there.
