Alarm

I don't even know if the original alarm system works. I think it consists of a horn beeping. Do most of you have after market alarms or the one that came with the car originally?

I work in a pretty tough city and where I work now the car is right outside the building. We are moving in June and 2 out of the 3 places have less than desirable parking situations. So I am hoping for option #3 which is in the next town over and has parking right out front with lots of windows. If I can't drive my car after waiting for 2 years to work then I might just have to find another job

The stock alarm on my C3 (which does work) is about as useless as teats on a boar hog....

My car is a 81 but I'm sure yours works the same. You have to lock both doors with the key or power lock control. This activates the alarm. To disarm use key on either door. To check if it works run a window down arm the system and remove the t top. Alarm should sound the horn when armed when tops, doors or hood are tampered with. If the alarm is activated it also breakes the start circut when the system trips. Good luck most stytems dont work.

My factory alarm works great. I just repaired it this past year.

I'd like to use the factory horn tied to an nice alarm with keyless remote after market alarm.
