Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

All this for $30 large

And I thought I overpaid for mine a little over a year ago.
Guess not.

Doug

holy crap!
if that car is worth $30,000 than forget it, i'm never driving mine again as it would be worth too much in perfect restored condition and now new paint too.
;LOL

are they out of their minds?

No Biggie:
  • Has some frame rust and front end damage.
  • Does not run or drive!
  • Most all factory correct components (gee I didn't know that '65 327/300 came with aluminum intake, holley, script valve covers, etc...)
  • Look how the shroud was smashed so far in that it bent the fan blades
Judging by the rust, I bet this thing sat in somebody's back yard for 20 years.

If Proteam doesn't want to fix it in their own Corvette shop it must really be trash.

Here is a rare Black/Red project car that could make the experienced restorer some extra money or a real nice car when finished. Does not run or drive! Project car!!!!

Margins would be tight on this resto. Even the experienced restorer would have trouble getting his shirt back.

cannot believe it, it must be a misprint. Otherwise pretty poor salesmanship. They can't believe someone would pay 30 for a wreck that will require megabucks to any get started with a restoration. Or are they betting on J barnum's theory that a fool is born everyday.

:duh
Judging by the picture of the engine compartment, a slight amount of frame rust should be the least of anyones worries. I agree with allcoupedup, regarding it have been sitting in a yard for 20 years, but I must ad that with the accumulated rust in the engine bay, it had to have sat there uncovered. I have purchased cars that have sat for 25 years, and compared to this, they were all mint.

The price must be due to that rare original color combination which will have to be repainted anyway.

I don't believe anyone in their right mind would even think of using it for anything but a parts car.
Cost to restore even to a reasonable driver would be prohibitive.

. . . . and they'd be right, and they probably are, and they'll probably get their price . . .
