Alternator Change

perfect! thanks Paul
this should be easier and no more expensive than trying to get mine rebuilt to a higher output.

one last quick question......... the regulator says it's rated up to 100amps but the alternator is rated at 135amp output. Is that still ok?
I can't imagine that even if my battery was almost completely dead plus every single electrial thing on my car was turned on including headlights, radio, A/C, etc that I'd be drawing anywhere near 135amps all at once so I'm sure I'd never once be pulling anywhere near the top rated output of the alternator but I figure it's safer to ask before I buy it.

Mine ain't broke yet, so I can't tell you how long it will last. I don't think I'll EVER pull 135 amps on this car, unless some shorts out solid. If so, I'll have a bit more to worry about than a $5.99 regulator.

The regulator doesn't handle all those amps, it just controls the output of the Alternator.

I bought a heavy duty unit from a local shop. I got the number to order from a FL marketer, It cost $45, but I didn't want to trust the electronics to a standard duty unit, so I payed a lot for peace of mind. I don't believe the JCWhitney unit was available when I got my regulator.
