My headlights - after they close - not when you open them - emit a loud burrrring noise. Dealer says I need a new motor - $450 Can with tax and labor
wtf.gif

Does that sound right or could they replace the gear drive which I believe is plastic only??

All help appreciated

I agree with Roadster, sounds like the nylon gears are not indexing, and its allowing the motor to run on. I'd try the gears soon, before you burn out the motor and then have to drop $450.

FWIW,

SAVE THE WAVE

Rodney Dickman if you want to go with the bronze gears. His price is the best for two gears. If you want to replace the whole actuator Fred Beans has the best price. I got one for less than $150.00(US) shipped.

I think the price sounds reasonable. The headlight probably costs about $200-250 then the labor of installing it. The motor is only serviced as a unit. GM does not replace the nylon gear.

Do it yourself and save $394.... $50 for the gear kit and $6 for beer. :beer
