Announcing CruiseFest 2012
What is CruiseFest?
CruiseFest is a get-together for Corvette Action Center forum participants, friends, spouses, or anyone who enjoys relaxing and enjoying their "Corvette Summer."
What are the dates?
We have chosen the week of June 10 -16th. Most attendees will stay for a portion of that time period, but we wanted to give everyone time to explore on their own before or after the group activities. Remember, the Corvette Assembly Plant is only open from Monday through Thursday, so plan accordingly if you want to tour the plant. The Bowling Green Hot Rods, minor league affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, will be in town starting on the 12th for minor league baseball fans. Also remember that Bowling Green is a great place to stay and take day trips to places like Fort Knox (gold repository and Armor Museum), the attractions of Nashville and Kentucky horse country.
Who can Attend?
Anyone who enjoys Corvette /car centered activities or just cruising around beautiful southern Kentucky north central Tennessee with friends and new acquaintances.
Who is sponsoring CruiseFest?
CruiseFest is an unsponsored activity organized by Corvette Action Center forum participants, Catbert and others.. Corvette Action Center management has not organized nor underwritten any of the activities, and is not responsible for any aspect of CruiseFest.
What are the costs of CruiseFest and participation?
There are no fixed costs associated with CruiseFest. Members are responsible only for their own expenses. The cost of attractions are the responsibility of each participant. Most activities are free or very reasonable.
Where will the CruiseFest be held?
We have selected a host hotel, the Country Inn and Suites, but attendees are free to choose their own lodging. The benefits of using the host hotel include a greatly reduced rate for truly superior accommodations, fitness center, in-room fridge and microwave, flat screen TVs, free breakfast, a choice of standard large room or suite at a reasonable additional cost. The major advantage of the host hotel is the opportunity to "hang" with other attendees to plan the day's activities. With the no set agenda format, we can sit around during or after breakfast to figure out who wants to get together for the daily activities. This format worked well the last time we met in BG for CruiseFestivus in 2009.
