I'm going to be buying an 82 CE real soon and was wondering if anybody has put side pipes on a CE.I've only seen the older Vettes with them.I live in Ga and we don't have any inspection of any kind so I'm not worried about that. Also what kind are the best.I like the Hooker ones but then again I kind of like the ones that are on the 66-67 Vettes.Any pics would be great.Thanks. :beer

I had a 78 Pace Car a few years ago, the previous owner had put side pipes on it, I can not remember what brand they where, but the pipes where all chrome. Unfortunately I’ve no pictures of the car before I removed the side pipes. There was cut out a piece from the side moulding for the exhaust pipe and the rear mounting was in the frame if I remember right. I now have a 69 with original pipes, they are fastened to the manifold in front, and one bolt to the frame in the rear. I believe they will fit right on the 82 with only small modifications, as far as I know the CE do not differ from the ordinary 82 in any way that should affect the exhaust system.

only think i can think of is you will need to put a whole in teh header for the o2 sensor

I have a 78 SA and I have Dynomax ceramic coated headers with patriot chrome sidepipes from Summit.
I had to order the u- and j pipes from Summit to connect them with the Headers.

It worked out great for me and I have a nice big block like sound. And not expensive at all.
