Well, I just finished installing my new heater core and discovered a strange fact. There is no heater control valve on my 75 convertible:confused . I don't know if somebody took it off or there never was one. Can anyone tell me? The new heater hoses run straight from the engine to the core and hot water is constantly circulating under the dash. As most know, the cockpit of the C-3's are known to be very hot. No doubt! with hot water constantly running through the system. Has anyone tried some type of heater cutoff valve or some way to divert the water through a bypass under the hood and open them during the winter. I also found that someone had removed all the insulation on the inside of the firewall. I plan to replace it with foil backed insulation mat, anything I should watch for or beware of?

Thanks,

Andy;shrug

There has to be a shut-off valve on the hose or you will fry. I added two manual shut off valves on both hose to eliminate any warm water getting by the vacuum valve. I never use the heater anyway cuz I only drive it in warm weather.

You'll need two sizes of valves 3/4" and 5/8".

Great !:upthumbs Where can I find these things? Did it raise the engine temp.?
