I ordered a used hud with car that had 8 k miles on it.
But my problem is, the mirror is not broken the motor goes up and down
and the hud light comes on for 1 second when turning ignition key.
Could it just be the dimmer switch or is it better to change it all out.
Does the entire dash have to come out and if so
how many hours to put in and take out?
Last thung is I had a different radio put in and wonder if these people may have cut a wire.
Appreciate all here.:w

Hate to say it "Duke of Earl" but I've read the above three times and don't understand the problem.

When you post to the CAC, it's not like texting or tweating.

Please explain in full sentances what the problem is and maybe someone can help.

I'll add that if you are going to attempt DIY removal/replacement of the HUD in a C5, the first thing you need is a copy of the Factory Service Manual for your model year. CAC sponsor, Zip Products sells them.

If the above is the problem with your existing HUD then you need a new one (the one you ordered) in my opinion. Could it be the dimmer switch? Maybe but I severely doubt it. Does not sound like a normal failure mode. If it does the same thing regardless of where the dimmer switch is set then it makes the switch even less likely to be he problem.

Cut wire? No, even more unlikely.

See the post above on how to remove the dash to access the HUD. It is a DIY project even for beginners. With that guidance you really don't need the FSM. BUT, bag and tag the fasteners so you know what goes where.
