I just bought a 04 silver ZO6 yesterday. After one test drive I was hooked.
The power is just unbelieveable. Its like a Dr. Jeckel & Mr. Hyde car. Just putting around is is as docile as can be, but lay into it & it changes its personality real quick. I will always have a soft spot for my 76, as it was my first vette. But the overall comfort & the peformance of the new one just cant be denied.

Congratulations!

We bought our first ZO6 July 1st. It's a 2003 Millennium Yellow. It is a great car.

Congratulations on the upgrade, Scooter! They are awesome creatures, aren't they?

I experienced my upgrade to a Z06 in January of '04, and I've been smiling about it ever since.

Hi Scooter76 -

Congratulations!

I still have a perma-grin after all these years of owning a Z -

Whatta car!

Scooter, congratulations. The Z does have a bit of a split personality, and that's a very good thing.

Enjoy it, and drive it like it wants to be driven.

Thanks everyone!

My wife cought me sitting in the garage just staring at it yesterday.
BTW I must say that for the past 16yrs I have had such a wonderfull wife. She understands my car habit & has always let me buy new "toys". But now I have a problem- I told her that if I can get this car it will remain bone stock, just as it came form the factory. But I cought myself looking at peformance parts for it already. Don't know how long that I can restrain myself!

I made lots of promises when I wanted to buy mine too. I really meant them at the time. Of course, they've fallen by the wayside. ("I'll only put a few thousand miles a year on it, I won't drive it in the rain, I won't drive it at night....")
You know the old adage: It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission :D

Hi Tammy -

I made one promise, that I would only do performance mods. I blew that one with the wheels, but that is the only time I strayed.

My next mod will be a supercharger....planning it out now - telling Maggie how much a 2006 Z06 will be, with trade in of my 2002 etc.

Then, "look at how much more affordable a supercharger setup would be" ;)

best regards -

;LOL Ah yes, I'm quite familiar with that technique. And after you tell her that you could sell the house and move into something smaller to help make the payments, you'll find that selling her on the supercharger (and staying in the current house) will be a cakewalk.

You've mastered the art, it would seem :D

I am a new "Z" owner as well. This Tuesday it'll be a week I've owned it. Every chance I get, I drive it...or I will find excuses to drive it.

I took tons of photos of the car. Seeing it's a long weekend, tomorrow morning, I'll wash it again and take some of it by the beach.

GM did a VERY good job with these cars. The only thing they left out was storage space! CD's, your wallet, cell phone etc. There are a few companies that make trays etc. I might look in to that.

Enjoy the car!!!
