Hi,

My name is Les. My wife, Victoria, and I just bought an 01 Bowling Green Coupe. It's an automatic with oak interior. It has 34K miles on it and, except for two small chips on the front plate cover, it is almost perfect. I've owned three previous vettes, 64, 68 and 74 all roadsters. But, the last one was in 1980. It's been a long dry spell. We live in Justin, Texas and are looking forward to driving our new baby and getting to know some of the other owners in our area.

Hi, this is Victoria, Les's wife. He forgot to mention that I let him sell my beloved 2004 BMW R1200CLC motorcycle for the car. I only had a few restrictions - no red, yellow or white outside or inside :). I fell in love with Baby (haven't come up with a better name yet) as soon as I sat inside. He even let me drive her most of the way back from Florida to Texas!

'C ya on the road :w:

Welcome

Great to see another North Texan! It looks like you have a very nice ride, although I would love to have a few of your earlier year vettes :-)

Warm Welcome

Thanks everyone for this warm welcome. We are very much looking forward to being a part of the corvette community - including this great board.

Thanks Jane Ann for the help with the avitar. I'm not completely computer illiterate but, I can use a lot of help.

Yes, Obidon, I wish I still had a couple of my previous vettes. The real keeper should have been the 64 but, I was younger then and the 327 just didn't get me where I wanted to go. The 68 was a 427/400 and it was a blast to drive but, these days that 6 miles per gallon would work out to about $.55 per mile. Plus, it wouldn't run on just any brand/octane of gas. Texaco premium would get me about 50 miles before the plugs were fouled. Sonoco 106 octane worked pretty well. The 74 was a complete piece of s--t.

Thanks again everyone.

Les

Hey Cee,

Give us a shout sometime when you are coming through Justin with a little time.

Les

I'm straight out 407 W towards Rhome/New Fairview.....that was a fun drive home tonite.
Roads weren't too bad, just people going way too slow!
If you see a black Silverado SS thats me....I'm sure I'll recognize the Bowling Green C5..
Waiting for the weather to warm up a bit and get my 68 on the road again....
Maybe we can meet up some time and find some place in Justin to grab a bite.

Take care....

Welcome to the CAC Les and Victoria. :w Nice 01 Corvette.
I'm "Green with envy".
I lived in Lubbock Texas between 1984 and 1989. Watch out for those West Texas tumbleweeds.

Food at the Lonesome Spur Cafe is pretty good. We usually try to catch breakfast there on Saturday or Sunday. They make GREAT pancakes!!
