My 1980 never showed any problems with either window. Both have always worked fine. Yesterday while driving I lowered the drivers window for a couple of minutes, then went back up with it. No problanoo.
About 20 miles down the road I went to go down with it again and NOTHING.
I mean nothing. No sound are any movement at all. Passenger window still works like it should.
I tried tapping around the switch, bumped around the door panel for the motor, opened and shut, then slammed it a couple of times, still nothing. Today I loosened the side carpet panel and got my finger up to the switch and pushed up, thinking it may have came unplugged at little. No results.

Before for I start this Easter Egg hunt, could anyone tell me where they think the Golden Egg may be at?
Thanks for any help. :w

Golden Egg Hunt!

First place to look might be inside the black conduit between the two hinges, the wires have been known to break at that point. Pull off the kick panel and door panel and you can find those wires. While your in the area pull the connector off the motor and make sure it works by using a jumper wire. Sometimes the brushes in the motor get stuck and a tap or two with a plastic hammer will free up the brushes. I'll guess that the circuit breaker and relay are good since the other window works, so if the all the above fails then check the switch. PG.

Thanks PG. I will look at it again tomorrow.

Good information. The only thing I can add to this is I had a similar problem on my car - the window went down, but wouldn't go up at all. No noise and no movement. I swapped the switch wiring to rule out that the switch on the bad side wasn't the problem (i.e. I plugged the connector for the passenger side switch onto the drivers switch to see if it worked). After doing some additional checks my problem was simply the contacts on the connector that plugs into the window motor. 30 years of crud had built up just enough to prevent contact between the motor tangs and the contacts in the connector (which are a dual blade "swipe" type contacts). I cleaned them off the best I could and it's been golden ever since... Just something else to look at :beer

Something else:

THANK YOU,

If it's not electrical, then check for a broken regulator spring. Not likely since it makes a serious noise when it let's go. At least mine did, thought I'd been shot.

Bingo on the connector:

That was the problem. The connector that plugs into the motor. Cleaned it with CRC CD Electronic Cleaner and it was good to go.
Thanks, :thumb

That's the same thing I had to do on my seat switch. But, only after I purchased a new one off E-Bay. OH WELL!
