It was a matter of economics: :L
I drive mine every day and the $28.00 for gas two or three times a week for my C3 was getting a little old. The C5 really does get 28-30 mpg I filled it up on the way to Toledo Saturday and because there is a glitch in the gas gage (it reads E until it goes below 3/4) my wife was panicing on the way back and I stopped and topped it off ($5.00):D and reset the trip meter. I have 110 miles since then (time to fill the C3) and 5/8 of a tank left. I expect to rack up a lot of miles on this car it is smooth,fast and comfortable.
I seem to skip generations when I buy , my first was a 60 back in 1967-69.
My advise to anyone thinking about buying a C5 is
1 don't drive it till you are ready to buy it
2 now is the time to buy with the big dealers driving the prices of C5's down
