Antenna doesnt fully retract

There is a ground plane wire that goes from somewhere near the antenna motor towards the front of the car behind the inner fender. If you broke it or pulled it out then your reception would not be very good. This is a very thin wire.

It is also very important to put the right connectors on the right posts of the antenna.


Ah, well it looks like i know what i'm doing saturday afternoon :). I was pretty sure i put everything back the way it was (from memory), but i'll double check. Thanks.
 
antenna stopped working

Radio was on last week and then it stopped, antenna went down and hasn't worked since. Anyone ever have this issue?? Checked fuses but they are fine

Aftermarket antenna from Advance / Zone works fine, unless you want to install a new mast. Your tape drive has probably worn, and it's integral with the mast. See pic of geared tape drive here.
