Anybody have RW dyno figures on L98?

by my dyno run, the only run i had with being hot and blowing #8 EGR tube so i was basically running on 7 cylinders made 292 fly wheel hp if we go by a 20% loss in A4's and 414 lbs of torque at the flywheel.

anyone that reads my stories over on http://www.CorvetteKillStories.com now can realize why i beat stock LS1 Fbody's and stock C5's. LS1's made on average depending on year 320 fhp and 320 ctq C5's made 350 fhp and 350 ftq. haven't ran from a dig with a Z06 yet but i think it would be interesting. only ran 1 01 Z06 from a roll before and from 65 to 130 he had 3 cars on me before the headers.

I have forgotten the exact #s of the highly modified L98 that was in Thunder before we did the 383 swap but it was just under 290rwhp on a Westech chassis dyno. That engine had the TIPS bigmouth base and large runners with a 52 MM TB intake that I now have on the 383, TIPS headers, 1.6 RR, AFR heads, and every thing from the air cleaner to the exhaust tips was ported and polished. In other words about $2500 for 100 HP.

I smoked a 96-98 Rustang GT with my 84 and it was bone stock. Only mod it has now is a gutted cat. converter. He was a cool guy though as he gave me the thumbs up sign when I backed off and he caught up to me.

My seat of the pants dyno tells me I am about 20 hp stronger than stock. I know what a 205 hp V8 feels like and this isn't it. This car runs too strong to be 205 hp.

That is what I've been saying all along. Here is my .02 worth as I set in my big arm chair:

A. Maybe it is the low end torque that gets these cars moving so quick. But if that was the case then it shouldn't take much to break traction. It takes a lot of mashing the go-pedal to get mine to break the rear tires loose. Instead it is getting down the road/track/runway quickly.

B. Maybe the C-4 is just better at getting the power to the ground. That is why I say that my '86 just seems quicker and stronger than the Rustang. I have beat the hell out of this Rustang and it is hard to get it to even come close to being quick. You have to stand on the go-pedal at just about WOT, then pop the clutch to get it to even think about spinning rubber. Must of the time it just chokes the engine down.

I will say this, i've had guys who wanted a piece of the Rustang. I don't even try because it wouldn't take much to spank it. Heck a go-cart may be about all it could beat. Now the C-4 is another story. I've had several (including a new Dodge Hemi pickup) pick on the little ole C-4. All i have to say is that it hand them their buttocks. The Hemi was the funniest because as Red (the C-4) was getting down the road in a big way, the Hemi was just setting there burning rubber. It looked like the entire rearend of the truck was on fire. At the next light this guy's face was all red. But he did give me a :_rock. I wouldn't have raced him but he called my vette a "piece of crap":mad . So I showed him who really owns a piece of crap.

So...I still think that maybe the tour guide in BG may have been telling a little toruth about the C-4s. But the dyno's tell the whole truth.
H.D.

C4's are very effective at getting the power to the ground. My 84 has the 3.07 rear end and will smoke them when the pedal is stomped. Ont he flip side I have a 77 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 400 and 2.41 rear end and it can't light em up even if ya thru a match under the tires.
