Hi gang.....been a while since i have been back on. Work has kept me way to busy to work on the Vette or even look at the boards.

I got a letter in the mail a couple of days ago from GM. They are looking to "buy back 88 Corvettes" for a project they are doing and were interested in meeting with me and looking at my car. I called the number on the letter and did a little checking to verify the phone number and such, and it seems to check out. However, I havent heard of anything like this happening, and have tried looking at a few forums to see if anyone else has gotten such a letter or whats going on. There doesnt seem to be any big news on this, so I was wondering if any else had heard anything?

To me, the car is VERY special, as its my FIRST VETTE. But i dont think anyone else would see some of the specialty to it that I do. And unless there was a "FAIR SWAP" for a new 2006, I dont think I would even consider getting rid of it.

If anyone has heard anything about this, please speak up. I am curious as to whatthey are doing. Thanks.....and keep on waving!! :) :w

I believe it is just a sales gimmick to get you to buy a new car . I recieved letters from 2 different manufacturers to buy back my cars. I went there and it was a way to try to get me to buy a new car.

...sounds to me like a letter from your (GM) dealership looking to get you into a new GM car during "slow times" :ugh

I seriously doubt it is anything more than that

I agree!! There are enough of them on the market that they would not have to pay a premium to a satisfied owner to give one up.
