Just bought an Accel 74702 fuel pump (good to 870 HP! :) ) and plan to install it soon. They claim that the included fittings will work with the Vette's stock ones, but that the mounting bracket needs to be modified slightly. Anyone done this and can tell me what's involved? Don't want an unpleasant surprise while the gas tank's open.

Thanks!

How big is it? Do you have a Picture of it?

I have installed Walbro 255lph pumps that were stock in size..

Also if you need to splice wires for the pump in the tank, DO NOT USE electrical Tape.. use the Crimp connectors

I'll get a size when I get home, can also post a picture. It's got screw-on posts, so I figured wiring would be simple.

You can use a large radiator hose clamp. I made my own stainless steel line with fittings for a more custom fit to the pump.

Make sure to disconnect the batt. terminals before begining the project.

Here's a picture of the pump and its fittings (I'm assuming the blue fittings are optional and used to change the size of the inlet and outlet for different applications).

The pump itself is 7 5/8" in circumference, 2 1/4" OD and about 6" long, not including fittings.

So a 3" hose clamp would fasten it to the stock mounting bracket? LPE has an Accel bracket (#74710) for it, but wants $40 for it.
