Anyone running dual pcv valves on a TPIS miniram???

the other t.b. opening goes to the charcoal canister under the driver side headlight.

ok now i got a stupid question,,,,there are 2 ports on teh pass side of the tb,,,,the larger upper one oes to the valve cover,,,,what goes on teh lower smaller one? does that go directly to manifold vaccum?

Are you referring to the radiator coolant bib?

Heated coolant flows through the TB to prevent icing under certain conditions. Lost of folks by-pass it to keep the intake charge cooler. I by-passed mine.

Both hose bibs are on the passenger side of the TB.

If you're referring to the bib on the front underside of the TB, that's a vacuum bib. This one is tiny in comparison, maybe 1/4" or so.

I have Hooker 2149 headers with the air tube hookups. I put the one way valves on those and run direct hose from the valve cover to the header air tube on each side. Works very good for me. You want to have a bit of vacume applied to your valve covers to get the contamination out of the gases in there to keep the oil clean. Just venting the valve covers to atmosphere is okay but not the best. The reason they plumb them into the vacume on the throtle body is to re-burn the gases to cut down on emisions. If you don't have any inspection you can do it any other way that works. Or vent it to atmosphere. Oh one other thing. Heater hose is not designed to work with oil and will rot out rather quickly when exposed to such. I got my hose from a large truck heavy equipment hydraulic hose place.

Bob,

that sounds really neat. Do you have any pic's you can post for me?

Thanks!!!

You can kind of see it in this shot I think.

how do the check valves on the headers work?

Seems like if the exhaust is suckin air in all the time it will make the o2 read lean and thus cause a rich mixture.

Or does the check valve take care of that?

I guess that sounds like it might be a possibility. I know that under low rpm's there is a small amount of vacume created by the header air tubes. I guess I have never checked to see what happens under high rpm's tho. That might be a good thing to check out. I do know that my plugs always look good and there is no indication on them of a rich condition. And, the Hookers have the 02 sensor just in the #7 tube near the head so I don't think there would be a big effect. I wonder if the air tube even goes into #7? My car is up high on the lift for the winter so I won't be able to check for awhile then.

I have 2149 headers too and the air tube goes into all 8 cylinders.

I guess if your plugs look good then you should be fine. Have you been on a chassy dyno yet with your current setup?
