Has anyone ever done an ARS adjustment per the FSM? I have the FSM and was looking at it. Is it a difficult job? Do I need any special tools?

Thanks.

Paul

It is not a difficult thing to adjust the ASR. Be sure to follow the directions exactly as they are in the FSM. Use care with the 1/8 drill bit that you do not let it go to far into the mechanism because it will lock the wheels from turning all the way and also will brake the pot metal casting on the back cable wheel. Be sure to release all the cables and use a torque wrench set to 8NM with a 1/4 inch socket extension on it. I use my 3/8 torque wrench with an adaptor from 3/4 to 1/4 drive. As stated in the manual listen for the clicking sound when you get the cables properly torqued. I can not stress enough the need to follow the instruction exactly and in correct order. It should only take about 10 min. to make this adjustment. If the transmission is shifting at the right spots and you do not have hard shifts leave it alone.

Thanks John, I think it needs to be adjusted because some bonehead unlocked the adjustment clip and moved it. So, because of that does it need to have a complete adjustment? You know the adjustment "thing" (for lack of a better description) in the throttle line going to the TB?

What is your advice on this? Do I need to do it because of that?

Paul

BTW do you know what NM equates to in foot pounds?
