I thought you guys might be interested in a video I put together of some racetrack events I have done in Australia.

The 3rd segment "Corvette Leadfoot Competition" is a yearly event where most of the Corvette Clubs along the east coast of Australia get together to see which club has the fastest average time around a track (average of five fastest drivers from each club). The track varies year by year and there are lots of class and incidental awards along the way. We have a lot of fun!

Cool! Another Australian CAC-er! :cool

ZedOhSix,
I'm curious, did you have to convert your Z06 to a right-hand drive?

-Patrick

Yep they have to be RHD in Australia. GM don't make them that way so it's a serious custom modification done by any one of several converters here in Australia. Takes about 4 months and costs about USD$20k.

You guys get your vettes a whole lot cheaper than do we here in Oz.

Too right it's cheaper! That would make the cost of a Z06, with the RHD conversion, approaching USD $70,000! :eek And that's before you figure the shipping and tarriff charges.

I dunno, though- I think getting used to shifting with my left hand would definately take some getting used to. I'd better stick to an automatic transmission on my next trip down under.

When you do come down, try and take time to visit with any of the local Vette clubs. We often have visitors and try to show them some of the local Vette community. Most recently our club hosted a bunch of people from the Vegas club.

That was a cool video. But it was strange watching the driver on the right hand side.

One tiny thing- I think I would have preferred the roar of the engine and exhaust to the Rage against the Machine tune (if that's what it was).

Thanks for the compliment. I had fun.

The trouble with the first clip was the school required the windows to be down, it was VERY windy that day and 90% of what the camera picked up was wind noise. You can hear it at various stages where it comes and goes. The straight is almost absent wind noise, but the twisties are all wind roar. Sounds horrible. Both the other tracks were with windows up.

I figured "rage" was better than wind noise.

BTW: the car in the distance on the title clip is a Lamborghini Diablo, the Ferrari at Eastern Creek is a Testarossa, the bird is an Australian Cockatoo, and the Vette is a '77 C3 from memory.
