HI there,
If you are talking about the torque converter clutch solenoid, on the 4L60 or a 700R4 in the old technical speak, this is located directly at the front of the transmission, under the filter.
So, with that in mind, you will need to drop the pan, and the filter.
If you look at the hole for the filter, and your feet are laying to the rear of the vehicle, and you are on your back. To the drivers side of the pan, there is a solenoid, with 2 wires that point directly up, and goes into the same aluminum body at the filter.
Now, as a sidebar, please remember, that there is also a temperature switch, that, if defective, will NOT allow the TCC solenoid to engage. So, you will also have to check the temperature switch also.
