B@M shifter install problems

Well I have pried the snap ring back to the second grove and am trying tap out the gearshift shaft pin. It feels solid. Has anyone had the same problem and if so what’s the solution.

Called B@M they offered no real help.

Get a bigger hammer or a dead blow hammer thats what I did.Its a tight fit when you put the pin back in grind a little off the edge of the pin it will go in easier.Good luck Kevin.
 
After looking at your picture make sure the ring is still not in the groove on top.Kevin.
