1988 Callaway Twin Turbo convertible
I own a 1988 B2K Callaway Corvette convertible; it has been in storage for the past six years. I'm in the Air Force and was overseas and I couldn't take my car with me. I'm thinking about selling it, but I don't know the value of the car.

Here is some background information on the car: #54 of 124 built in 1988, 100K+ miles, Doug Nash 4+3 transmission, minor front end damage (I had it repaired). The DYMAG wheels had the paint stripped off by a previous owner. The back window has been replaced. I have the original presentation box (minus the pen and MagLite in the portfolio). I also have most of the maintenance records from the first owner.

The car hasn't been on the road in six years. My father starts the car every couple of months and backs it out of the garage but he will not take it on the road. He drove it several times when I first put it in storage but the car scares him, too much HPs.

I would appreciate your input on the car's value.

Thanks
Steve

Do you have any pics online or that you could upload as an attachment to a message, that may help...
I have heard that a few cars may be headed to the Bloomington Gold Show in June to sell either on the Field or, at their auction -

Here are some pics of the car before it went into storage.

No pics of the interior or engine compartemnt.

Good luck with the sale! The collector market is all over the place at the moment. Some cars sell for ~$20k and others go for much much more! What's the difference? It's all in what the buyer is willing to pay and how much they truly want the car. It sounds like you may have some time to sell it, so start out high with the price. We've seen a lot of Callaways sell inside of six months. Some of those have taken more than one tour through E-Bay and may also appear in Hemmings. If you can afford the advertising, I'd also put it in the Dupont Registry. The last time I saw a Callaway in there was a loong time ago! But, that mag gets tons of exposure and caters to the super high end luxo/sport car buyer. It's all about matching up a buyer to the car. There is someone out there that is looking for your color combination and option list-- just gotta find them! :)

Love hearing about these Twin Turbos with a few miles on 'em!

Very encouraging and shows someone knows what they're for: driving!!!

Absolutely!!!! There was recently a 90 coupe for sale with high miles, I believe it has now sold...

As long as it has been maintained, they (B2K's) should run a very, very long time - turbo rebuild kits are out there, as I know of one set that was recently redone (seals, bearings, etc.) everything else is basicly standard issue (or better than)GM :upthumbs
