Ok, ok, it was a very small show - just our own Corvette club having an exhibition event in one of the shopping malls - but BABY, my '65 Coupe, won one of the first prize trophies. She was the Mall Management Choice winner
:beer
It's not a prestigious win like an NCRS judging but after losing my Best of Show trophy because I left the event early a few weeks ago (that was the show I got upset because the paint on the hood blistered) it helps to make up for it a little.
Even on a little show like this it feels really good to come home with a nice trophy to show off besides having a great day with everyone in the mall admiring the car and other great people from my Corvette club to share the day with.
To me, this is what the enjoyment of owning the car is all about - besides driving her of course!
:D

Barry,

Good job man!

I guess I missed now the repair of your hood went. Sounds like things are better.

Congratulations. Your ride is my favorite body style and year.

Best thing about it is it's a sign your luck is turning for the better! Keep up the winning streak.

you didn't miss it, i'm still waiting for it to get repaired. I'm waiting for the insurance to approve the latest estimate from the paint shop - $1275.

I won even with the blistered paint - pretty unbelievable huh??

Tom

thanks
:)
I'm hoping to get more of this "art" so I can justify a whole new shelf to hang up to hold them

Hi Studiog

I didn't think of that but maybe you are right. I sure hope so!!!
Sometimes it only takes a small thing like this to turn things around.
:)

Congratulations to the both of you! :D

But seriously, did you ever really think you wouldn't need a second garage stall for the trophies Baby will win?

Of course I never thought I would need that and still don't. BABY is a nice driver car with a pretty decent frame off restoration but sure not to NCRS standards. I never planned on doing the "judging circut" thing when I got her and just go to the local shows for fun really and to check out all the other beautiful cars, talk to other car people, and have fun. there are so many great cars at these shows I never expect to win anything but if I manage to come home with a trophy I'm sure not going to complain - and it DOES feel pretty good!
I'll admit, as soon as my wife and I walked in the house we started calling everyone we knew to tell them about the trophy including my parents are are currently on vacation out in Las Vegas. My mother returned my call from the casino floor! ;LOL
I know it was just a very small local show but it IS a nice feeling and fun to win something.
It will be a long time, if ever, before I need a whole shelf just for trophys but it's a start anyway.

I'm proud of you, Sweetie!

Congrats Barry...Maybe "Baby" & Rick's "Lady" Could get together?

It's always good feeling to know your hard work has been recognized by your peers and the general viewing public.

BABY and LADY already know each other well. They first met when Rick took LADY into Tony's Corvette Shop for her restoration (the same place that I found and purchased BABY from). When I saw BABY for the first time LADY was nothing but a bare frame that Tony had just finished repainting and still had nothing reattached to. About a month after I bought BABY some idiot backed into me at a redlight so I had to take BABY back to Tony's for her repair so BABY and LADY kept each other company and resumed their friendship for about another 6 weeks until both cars were out of the shop.
