Banned Corvette Commercial

I never have figured out what was so bad about it. It made it quite obvious that it was a boy daydreaming.Much more suggestive activity in cartoons kids watch everyday. ;shrug

Let's just hope that the bored soccer moms with plenty of free time who stopped the commercial never form a political lobbying group. I wonder if they shield their children's eyes from the sinful curves of the corvette when one of them pulls up next to their minivan at a stoplight.

By far one of the best commercials ever produced!! My kids loved it and were dancing around thinking it was the coolest thing. Madonnas husband produced it.Its rather funny when they pull the Vette commercial back then but Mazda Zooms Zooms and other car companies are racing on the back roads streets etc...Go figure!!!! Bring back the Vette commercial!!!!

I heard the public safety groups freaked out over this one.

Too bad, they bring out the kid in all of us. ;)

Great !
I got a new C6 vert Sept 2005 and let my 15 year old Grandson ( just got his learner drivers permit) drive it around town with top down. You should have seen the grin on his face. No burn outs though.

Great commercial. Too bad a bunch of uptight frustrated individuals make it so rough for the rest of America.

Everything is so politicaly correct and sanitized. That is a great commercial. If you can't use your imagination-what good is life?

They show commercials for "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas", which is one of the most controversial and violent video games ever produced, but they'll refuse to show a kid dreaming about a new Corvette?? Go figure.

Thanks for this link. I'd seen a photo clip with a blurb that the commercial had been pulled. I couldn't find the full commercial earlier today, though. I enjoyed getting to see it.

I approve that commercial!

I still say "Merry Christmas"

America is and always will be about "Freedom"

When we make decisions based on a minority rather than the majority then our "Freedom" becomes just a another word for nothing left to lose. When one or two whining, tree hugging, perp loving, gun removal advocates, against the death penalty morons, take no responsibility for their actions idiots, find fault with everything about America, socialist, communist, happy holiday loving versus Merry Christmas, windbags (Did I leave someone out?)force us to change our way of life because they want change then our so called freedom is slowly eroded away.

Sorry for the rant but I am getting a little peeved with some people and am irritated that we cater to those "But that commercial will give children bad ideas" idots. The commercial was for adults, kids who see that will either already be to young to appreciate it and those old enough won't be able to buy one any time soon. And when they do the only thing left in this "free" country will be hybrids tooling along at a "safe" 55mph.

Okay NOW I need some Tylenol!

I concur. Unfortunately, too many young adults today can't see the forest for the trees.
We are losing America, guys.

That GM allowed itself to be bullied into pulling that ad is a good example of what's wrong with GM. The people who complained are the types who would never buy a Corvette, and the ad gave a youthful "punch" to the new C6 that would appeal to a broader audience of potential customers. So, the only thing GM did was surrender to people who wouldn't buy the car anyway, and missed the opportunity to attract new customers. Don't try and please people who are determined to run you down! It sort of like the President finally deciding to talk over the heads of the (old) mainstream media.

Glad to see from the previous posts that there are still intelligent people in the world. I know that seems like I am patting my self on the back but hey I think I am right and am sure I am not a minority. I just wish that the older I get I would stop letting more and more things aggravate me. I don't take being a curmudgeon very well.

Is this a sign that my generation could be in trouble? Not to be too pessimistic. Well as bad as things may seem, there is always room for recovery or improvement of our country. The only challenge is that is takes a lot of hard work and support. I just wish I could help to make the country as good as it used to be. :)

P.S. On a happier note, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :upthumbs

And Merry Christmas to you and all here Paulie! It's tough on us boomers who still hold on to the old value's and haven't been corrupted by the PC culture. Our hope is in the youngsters like yourself who are using their brains and calling BS on the commie ways the we have degenerated to. You can help, keep your head up and pay attention.

We need to get rid of the whole damn bunch that pretends to represent us while they catfight, line their own pockets and screw us in the backside. How on earth do these leeches keep getting re-elected? It ain't funny anymore :mad

Positively Correct

Remain optimistic and confident in your beliefs. They are founded on substantive, proven, optimistic ideals and confidence in ourselves and the USA.

The spoilers -- those politically correct, PC people -- are not enjoying themselves and have little fun. We enjoy life and know what fun is. They have little respect for the USA and they fail to understand all the blood, sweat, and tears that were required to buld our nation. They fail to comprehend that it took hundreds of years to build the USA.

I publish news and opinions confirming our optimism on one of my sites, www.GlobalNewscast.com.

We are very fortunate to live in the USA. I do not allow anyone to cause me to waver from the American ideals and optimism that have provided for and allowed the USA to become the greatest, most successful experiment in history.

Or we could change the motto to:

America; Land of the Bland

Happy Holidays:w

You mean the Preamble does not start with:

We the sheeple in order to form a more homogenious union?

The PC crowd seems deadset on globalization, redistribution of wealth, and pushing ethnic diversity vice the MELTING pot. So many people are hyphonated-Americans instead of AMERICAN. This puts America on track for Balkanization and if we stay on this course will have the same problems as France, Britain, and now even Australia.

I thank GOD for John Browning, John Garand and Eugene Stoner; because men like them are the reason America is AMERICA. (Yes,! I know John Garand is Canadian)

I am going out for a drive!!

Merry Christmas
