It seems that if I do not start the car for about 6 weeks or so the battery doesn't crank the engine. I get click, click, click. I jump start the car with another battery, and it starts right up. Question: When hooking up a battery tender/ battery charger for storing the car for weeks at a time, do I disconnect the battery or do I just leave it connected?:confused

6 weeks is about right .When I use a tender I do not disconnect the battery .When I store for longer periods of time I make sure the battery has a full charge and then I disconnect as GM recommends .Some say that you'll loose your memory and windows need to be indexed but I've never had a problem .

Thats what I do and I'm sure you'll get 50 different ideas with the next couple days :D

You can get a Battery Tender that wires into the car or the one with the clips. Both can be left on indefinately w/o harm. You will drasticly reduce your alternator's life by jump starting the car and using the alternator to completely charge the battery.
