I need to install a new battery on my 96. Please offer a little insight to lesson the learning curve. It appears three star head bolts hold the body molding onto the wheel well. One bolt on top and another on the bottom. Am I missing anything???? any insight is appreciated. Email at Dhegg@wi.rr.com

Thanks in advance.

you got it but do not remove bottom one just loosen enouight to slide out body piece

I just went through it myself - not bad at all. One thing, however, is loosening that bottom bolt as was previously mentioned. The panel will stick probably due to all the crud and grime accumulated down there. So your first reaction is to keep loosening and loosening that bolt until you think the panel will come free. Well, just take your time and try to carefully break it free. When going back it aligns up pretty nicely, too. Search the forum as someone forwarded me a link with pretty detailed instructions that you may want to review before you start wrenching.

Looks like most have covered it above. One additional thought. Make sure the car is parked on a flat/level surface. If the body is in a bind you can have problems getting the panel to line up right (they don't call them flexable flyers for nothing :) ). Watch the rear edge and the door clearance when aligning the panel.

Ditto the door clearance, I scuffed my paint a little cause I diden't have it just right. Test alignment (slowly) first.:)
