'13 427 60th vert - '25 Eray Hysteria Purple - CTS V Wagon(4-door Vette)
This morning, my wife and I got in the 427 Vert for a club road trip. When I tried to start it, the engine spun over for about a second then stopped and it make a series of loud clicks with the lights flashing with each click.

I tried the start button a couple of more times and got the same series of loud clicks and flashing lights. Not wanting to miss the club road trip, we switched to the V-Wagon and had a great day.

So, does this indicate a dead battery on the C6?

Tuna, considering the battery cables are tight and clean(which I'm sure they are,) I'd have to say "Yes." It's dead(or real low.) How long has it been since the car was last run? After about 2-3 weeks of being dormant, the memory circuits will drain the battery if it isn't run. My C4 would last about 4-5 weeks, but the C6's have a lot more memory functions and will pull down a battery in 2-3. Happened on my C6 this past January. It's a "pain" cuz you have to reset all those settings.
If your battery is older it'll draw down faster.

Also, hit the Acc. button and read your voltmeter(or put a voltmeter on the battery). If it reads 12v or less. She Gone! A charge should bring it back because if she clicks, it isn't stone dead. Batteries will "usually" survive a few (3) draw-downs.
Here's the Battery Tender(maintainer) I use on both my Vettes. Works like a charm. I got mine at Amazon.

I drove it Saturday on another club road trip.
Tomorrow, I'll check out the battery and probably get a new one.

Sounds a bit suspicious. My Caddy CTS did that to me a few weeks back. Instead of chancing a problem down the road (quite literally), I just replaced the battery.

That's the safest way. Being this time of year where some are in storage, I was stating the obvious. No offense intended. First, I'd (jump) start it and be sure you are getting 14 volts or better from the alternator at the battery.

Okay, I'm up and getting around to checking the battery - 12.1 volts direct reading. After putting it in accessory mode and checking the battery gauge on the dash, it shows 10.8-11.1. Not good.
I've put a charger on it and will get a new battery installed when I can get it to the shop.

Hi Hib, Yes the Odyssey is a good battery. A bit pricey though. Actually, I read your review last night and they sound impressive. Like the Die-Hard "used" to be. NOT to step on anybody's toes here; but Tuna, you may also want to consider the Excide Nascar Extreme. It's about half the price of the Odyssey and it comes with a 40 month FREE REPLACEMENT. No pro-rated warranty. That's pretty good for a flooded battery under a Hondo.
I have one in my C4 and killed it last summer after 2 years of service, by leaving the interior lights on for a week. I didn't mess with it, I just took it back. They replaced it NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I'll buy another when my C6 needs one, unless of course I find a better one.
My GMC has a Die-Hard and it's been great for 3 years. It's hard to say.....They're all good,......Till they die!
The C6 uses a Group 86 size battery, I believe. Let us know what you decide on.
Good Luck!

Battery seems to be my problem because a new one solved all my problems.

That's good Tuna! :thumb

Good deal, Tuna. Glad it was just a battery.

With all this battery talk lately, I felt mine was cranking a bit slow too. So I replaced it today. I tried an AGM for the first time.
Did the trick...48 month free replacement.......

Thanks, Hib!
