I have agreed value insurance on this car in an amount that I will be able to replace the car and have some money left over to spend on any upgrades it may need. Now if I could just get the appraiser to show up at the body shop I could end this story.

Don't know if you are looking for another Silver-Green '82, but Proteam Corvettes in Ohio has one... just popped into my head so I thought I'd toss it out there for ya. I'm sure there are plenty out there...

181R..1982 Corvette Coupe, crossfire injection, turbo-hydramatic, three owner car. Very rare Silver Green paint with Silver Green interior (one of 723 produced). Very nice paint, interior, engine compartment, wheels, and tires. Most all factory options including Alloys, glass tops, leather, and power options. Most all factory correct components. Documented with owner history. Also has year 2001 state inspection. Looks, runs, and drives very nice. CC:3 $14,995.00

We did see the one proteam had. They emailed us some pictures today.
The appraiser finally showed today and it looks like the car is officially totaled. I posted some pictures of the car at this site. So I guess this is the end of the story.

That was sad just to look at the pictures. I found a few sg-82's on this site: http://www.collectorcartraderonline.com/ (one is in FL) and there were a couple last month for sale on the corvette forum in the C3 For Sale section. Mine is unofficially for sale (that's why I bought it) , but it won't be cheap, but I could deliver it to Helen, Ga next week .

Are you going to buy the car from the insurance company? As I said before, you can part it out on ebay and make a good penny back on it.
...and if you don't intend to buy it back from the insurance company, could you let me know the price, as I might certainly consider it!

Very good advice, I think. More money to get/fix-up a new one, and make the hurt go away as quickly as possible! Plus, you may get some satisfaction from knowing that your car, even in death, helped to save some others - sort of like an organ donor...

ive heard some dodgy stories about proteam, make sure u check everything.

The guy who sold me his car is barred from there, as he used to make sure that the cars his associates were buying were the real deal at the shop.
