Question: Behind the Air Intake???

There are Dials with the Year, Day, Time, and Shift on the back of the air intake box. What are these for? Is it went the car was built?

They are a sort of manufacturing code that you will find on many products that were made in a mold of some sort. The molds - or casts are only used for a certain amout of time before they are replaced and a new mold to cast the product is used. The symbols represent roughly how many times and for how long the mold was used.

You will see them on lots of things from cylinder heads to tail light lenses.

OK, thanks, I thought I found some sort of way of telling when my Vette was built. Oh well...hahaha
