I have had the 1990 for just under 2 weeks, and today I noticed that one of the rear tires was quite low. I was inflating it and as it came up, I heard a hissing sound, and I continued to fill it to the recommended 35PSI, and as it reached it, the hissing stopped. To be safe, I took it to the Goodyear store locally (I have no spare which I am taking care of), and after they removed the wheel, they found a minor bend in the inner rim. They said there didn't appear to be any cracks, but they couldn't repair it for me. They said that SOMETIMES the "flat-fix" in a can will do the job, at least temporarily.
I was given and name of a place not too far away, and they said they could usually repair the rims they get in the shop. Takes about an hour, and is $79/hour for the work. I am wondering if I can get a used rim in good shape for about that same price, and/or if a different used rim is a better bet than a repaired one (depends of course on who repairs it and what the real damage is once the tire is off). I looked at the area of the rim, and it is about 2" long, and might be displaced about 1/4" total, so doesn't look too bad. Any words of wisdom? Thanks, Tim
