I would like to get more zip out of my 99 vert. With a budget of about 3k what in your opinion would be the best mod's for the buck. There seams to be so many companies with great promises of increasing the hp. and in reality only few really produce. If you can please, from your own experience, tell me what works and what to stay away from.
Thanks Zagger.:w

OK, can you sugest which exsoust. An "H" pipe vs. "X" pipe, short or long tube heathers. also if I change MAS to a better flowing one ( flow more cfm.)
should I also change the throtel body, or it does not matter with stock cam.
I apreciate any sugestions, Thanks!

I'd say replace the stock intake air-box, throw on some headers, replace the stock exhaust and performance tune.

I would agree with 6 Shooter. I have a vararam intake, and I believe it yielded tangible results (0.3 seconds, 3-4MPH) at the drag strip. For exhaust, long tube headers, high flow cats, an X pipe, and whatever exhaust that sounds sweet to your ears. You have to think of the induction and exhaust as systems. Piecemeal replacement of the mass airflow device or other isolated pieces will not gain you anything.

For what it is worth, I don't think that you really will get large gains in power short of heads/cam or forced induction. The LS1 engine is very good out of the box, and the induction and exhaust are pretty good, too.
