Have a 1997 C5. Looking to modify the exhaust (without adding headers) for best sound and performance.

Looking for your experience and guidance.

Thanks!

You'll certainly get a bunch of different opinions on this one but I like my Corsa Pace Car system with an X-Pipe. But you should go to a Corvette Show and hear all of the different choices and decide for yourself.

You are probably going to get as many answers as there are exhausts with this question.

Different people have different tastes, and it depends what you are looking for.

Personally, I like Corsa and Billy Boat, both for sound and quality. Both have multiple options to satisfy different wants. They have sounds you can listen to on their websites, but they aren't the greatest.

I would also suggest looking up exhaust sound videos on YouTube. There are some decent ones on there. Of course, nothing is better than listening in person.

My '98 had a Corsa cat back system on it when I purchased it. I really liked the sound. I installed a K&N cold air intake on it and now I really like the way it sounds!

I have a 2003 z06 and installed a set of flowmasters on mine, there not cat backs so cuting and welding is in order. they sound great and best of all they are 100.00 less then all the rest. had many complemnts on there sound......................................................................Billy

Hey Dragon Daddy, I have had two vettes each with the B&B Tri flows. One was the Route 66, quiet but good tone, the other was the PRT. This one is loud, not bad when cruising especially with the top down!!. The B&B Bullet sounds really good also. As you can see I am partial to the B&B's. The Corsa exhaust systems are very nice also. As others have mentioned, it is your personal preference. Check out this link. C5 Corvette Exhaust Applications from Billy Boat Performance Exhaust

borg is the best

i have used many different types ,i work for gm and i never had a bad sound using borg..

We have Borla Stingers on my wifes 01 she likes the sound of them, I have BB Bullits on my 00 and she does NOT like the sound. ;shrug I will admit the BB's do have a drone around town, but on the hiway they are less than the wind noise around the car.

Good Luck,
JB

i guess it depends what you are looking for, but if you want a nice load aggresive tone get the Borla XR-1 or Borla Straights. I bought the straights and get complaiments all the time asking if i have a Big block in mine or what is that.. haha. Love the sound. Good luck, you can go on Youtube also and listen to all the different exhausts. all of them are pretty much on there.
