Black is such a challenging color to maintain or restore.

My car almost always looks great,

that is until the suns light is just at the right angle, usually in the morning, minor surface scratches and swirl marks appear..

Usually use Mothers detail products, but is there somthing out there formulated for a black finish?

It sure is challenging. But, it sure looks good when it's right! Check out the care and detailing forum on this board. Great tips and advise. Personally, I like Meguiars products. I use their cleaner, swirl remover, polish and carnauba wax. I don't have a show finish, but it looks darn close. Whatever you do, don't subscribe to the Mr. Myogi theory of wax on wax off, instant swirl marks...

Zaino would be the best, but you have to hunt around for someone who sells it.

You put enough coats of the stuff on and your woman can do her makeup by looking at the car.

I use Meguiars. First you take the clay bar to it, some 3M prep/swirl remover, coat of #7, 2 coats of #26 usually.

I highly suggest Mothers' Clay bar tho.

I put Mequiers on my black 94 and really was that overly joyed with the results. Going to order some Zaino from there web sight this week.Or else get some of the 3M wax don't know the name.

After trying a number of different brands on my black Vet I finally came up with a way to make it look flawless....NIGHT DRIVING!

Some don't pray to the Zaino gods. For darker cars, especially black try Pinnacle products or Blackfire (Pinnacle makes Blackfire). Ask me how I know.

Black = Corvette, Lexus, and Monte Carlo.

Zaino bro.. Zaino! Use the Z-2 sparingly and follow the curing times closely.. always wait more than a half hour for drying time. You'll be able to see the difference from where you applied it to where you did apply it!

I use Zymol (the real zymol, not the junk in regular stores), they have a formula for darker cars called carbon. You will really notice a difference over your other waxes. My brother just bought pinnacle, he raves about it over the Zymol he previously used.... so, maybe pinnacle is the way to go
