Hi guys, time has come to put in a new fuel pump. What's the best way to get rid of all that fuel pressure? Thanks,Doug:)

there is a Shroeder valve on the fuel rail (looks like a tire stem) take the cap off, cover with a rag and depress the valve with a nail or small phillips screwdriver to release pressure.

If you let it sit over night before you start doing the work, there will not be as much pressure as if you just shut the car off.

Pull the fuse for the pump ...then start it up

I'm with JonM if you pull the fuse then start it it should burn off any fuel left in the line.

FWIW the fuel pump is in the tank, a couple of screws to remove the fuel lid cover then the rubber liner will pull out, then its like 10 or so 10mm bolts that hold the whole assy. in the tank. Before you start removing the bolts brush around the tank cover and hose it off real good. You don't want to get dirt down in the tank.
