How about this area over the intakes and such.... can it be removed(or taped off) and re sprayed?
Or do all C4 engines look this way?

Mine looked just like plain 18 year old dull aluminum would. I got mine done here.

If the polished look is not for you, I beleive you should be able to mask it off and repaint it with some high temp paint in the proper aluminum shade of color. Kinda like how the guys with L98/TPI motors re-paint their valve covers to look factory fresh again. Looks like it's been sanded from the picture.

well, it isn't supposed to look like that! :L

on a serious note, that area is a real PITA to clean. the raised areas (the long 'lines') are supposed to have a sheen to them, and the rest is supposed to be just silver.

I agree that painting is probably the way to go if you want the factory look... but you will probably want to get a dremel tool to clean up the raised areas first.

you can also polish it with a dremel tool if you want the 'chrome look' that is probably the route that i would take. I think the engines look good with some chrome / shiny parts on them.

Thanks fellas, I figured it was not spose to look like it does! haha
Will try cleaning it and see where that puts me.

Keep ya posted
